The final arguments began about 3:00 Tuesday afternoon following a debate between prosecution and defense teams about instructions to be given to the jury in Kiley Hudson’s trial for the murder of Gary Salomon.

The defense began with self defense, under the law, means the person claiming that, has to believe he had to use deadly force.

The prosecution contends the defendant lied to several people to make it look like self defense and urged the jury to listen to Detective Yerrick’s interview with Hudson while Monday’s testimony is still fresh in their minds.

It was pointed out Hudson had the least amount of injuries after being attacked by two men.

The defense pointed to the interview given to the O.S.P. by Steven King saying that Salomon had a choke hold on Hudson; and that Cliff Eggleston told officers on the first night that Salomon had a choke hold on the defendant.

The defense pointed to the fact that the victim had scrapes in the front of his shins, they contend from the defendant’s shoes, proving Salomon was behind Hudson.

According to the law there are underlying charges including manslaughter I, manslaughter II and criminally negligent homicide that could be brought to bear, only after a not guilty verdict on the murder charge is rendered by the jury.

Closing arguments ended around 7:00 p.m. Jury instructions will be delivered at 9:30 Wednesday morning in Judge Hull’s courtroom.
