The Oregon Department of forestry has two controlled burns planned in the Grants Pass area today.

One acre of county land is scheduled to be burned off Elk Lane, five miles southwest of Grants Pass in the Stringer Gap area.

An additional acre will be torched in the 1800 block of Stewart Road, six miles west of the city.
