Kids Unlimited Fills Boy’s and Girl’s Club Void in White City
Kids Unlimited has launched programs for White City youths following last summer’s shut down of the area’s Boy’s and Girl’s Club.
The Medford Based Kids Unlimited Executive Director Tom Cole began brainstorming when it became known the Boys and Girls Club would close because of budget shortfalls.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Rogue Valley’s board voted to close the White City Club because it had netted a $508,000 loss over five years.
The Kids Unlimited program operates in the schools with an emphasis on academics and is receiving enthusiastic support from the Eagle Point School District.
Cole explained Kids Unlimited is not a drop in or a child care center. It requires young people to maintain academic standards to participate in sports, art, and music programs, plus it requires parents to be involved.
