The City of Gold Hill has hired former Reedsport City Manager Rick Hohnbaum to replace interim manager Dale Shaddox.

Hohnbaum, 57, was born in Eastern Oregon, grew up in Alaska and attended college in Oregon, earning a bachelor’s degree in social science from Western Oregon and a master’s in public administration from Portland State.

He served Reedsport from 2005 to 2008 and says small cities are his specialty. He pointed out a common issue for smaller communities is wastewater and the wastewater project in Gold Hill is going to be a biggie.

He reports for work February 12th.
