A fire alarm at The Suites Assisted Living Community, located at 1301 Parkdale Drive in Grants Pass, brought a huge response from two local firefighting agencies.

In total, six fire engines and approximately 20 firefighters from Grants Pass Fire Rescue and Rural/Metro Fire Department responded to the scene hurriedly at roughly 7:21 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters determined the fire alarm was activated by a smoke detector near a gas fireplace.
