Woman seriously injured by crashing her car at 80 mph
A 21-year-old woman crashed her car while traveling approximately 80 mph at roughly 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to an Oregon State Police incident log, Kelsey Grace Box was extremely upset after leaving an address on Mardan Drive. She passed two vehicles at a high rate of speed on New Hope Road and she cut to her right in front of the lead vehicle nearly striking it. Box’s 1990 Ford Ranger then crossed the shoulder and dropped into a ditch where it traveled approximately 100 feet before it struck a culvert pipe and went air born over both lanes of Moss Lane. The truck then landed in the ditch on the opposite side of the road, began rolling and struck several trees roughly 10 to 12 feet off of the ground.

Paramedics transported Box to Three Rivers Medical Center and subsequently to Rogue Regional Medical Center where she underwent emergency surgery. A hospital representative says Box was listed in critical condition Monday and in fair condition today.
