A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy saved a man’s life Wednesday in the 19,000 block of Antioch Road in White City.

Deputies received the emergency call and quickly responded to the scene because they knew they could reach the incident quicker than medical responders due to the location. Deputy Gabe Burchfiel located 49-year-old Alan Cartwright who was unconscious and not breathing. Burchfiel performed CPR and managed to get Cartwright breathing 10 minutes before paramedics arrived.

Cartwright is expected to make a full recovery.
