Sunday Morning Arrest Clears 8 Burglaries; Two Lodged!
Sunday morning at 4:51 City Patrol officers saw a suspicious car being operated without lights coming from behind the Water Works building near Ameri-Gas at 1126 Rogue River Highway. Officers stopped the car and made contact with the driver, Brian Patrick Shipman, 32, of Jack’s Landing RV Park.

It was determined Shipman had stolen two full propane tanks and was in possession of methamphetamine.

Officers suspected Shipman might be involved in many other burglaries the Department of Public Safety and the County Sheriff had been investigating.

Adam Paul Herrera was also developed as a suspect and was located at Shipman’s residence.

The two are suspected of a string of burglaries targeting ATM’s in small markets including the Lil Pantry Markets on Southeast M, on December 2nd and 4th; the M Street Market on December 8th; the C & D Shortstop on G Street January 4th; the Super Mini Mart on Redwood Avenue January 10th; and the Williams Highway Ray’s Food Mart on January 10th.

Allegedly the pair would use their car, a red 1990 Corolla registered to Shipman, to break through the front doors and steal the ATM machines.

Both are lodged in the Josephine County Jail on multiple charges including burglary, theft, attempted burglary, criminal mischief and possession of meth.
