Black ice causes multiple accidents on Redwood Highway
Black ice caused multiple accidents on Redwood Highway around milepost 14 just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday.
31-year-old Lisa Richardson was driving northbound in her 2003 Honda Accord at approximately 50 mph when she lost control on ice while taking a corner and her car slammed into an embankment on the southbound shoulder. Richardson sustained head and neck injuries and was transported to the hospital.
20-year-old Brieana Baxman was driving northbound in her 1995 Jeep Wrangler at approximately 55 to 60 mph when she lost control on ice on a corner. Her vehicle careened through a Charter Cable pole and hit an embankment. She sustained neck injuries and was transported to the hospital.
42-year-old Roxie Bazan was driving southbound in her 1980 Chevy pickup when she lost control on black ice and hit a fence. Her vehicle suffered minor damage and a flat tire. She did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
