State Troopers are continuing to investigate the single commercial truck crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 83 that resulted in the death of 71-year old Bruce Merrill, of Medford.

At approximately 11:40 yesterday morning the 2013 Freightliner driven by Merrill was northbound about three miles north of Glendale when for an unknown reason, it crossed over the southbound lanes through a ditch and struck a tree. Merrill was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He was using safety restraints.
