Winter Weather Advisory
Low elevation snow is expected this afternoon into early Thursday morning as a cold front will move into the area this morning into this afternoon. Snow levels start out near 4500 feet, fall to near 1500 feet late this afternoon into this evening. Snow levels are expected on the lower Valley floors tonight as light showers continue.

2 to 6 inches are expected above 2000 feet this afternoon through early Thursday morning except for 4 to 8 inches in the Kalmiopsis Wilderness. 1 to 3 inches are expected above 1500 feet and around an inch or less across the lower Valley floors. Snow is expected to develop this afternoon as snow levels drop to around 2000 to 2500 feet.

Snow showers will decrease early Thursday morning. However additional light snow showers are possible on Thursday. Locations include: Prospect ... Butte falls ... Hayes Hill ... Sexton Summit ... Ashland ... Jacksonville ... Eagle Point and shady Cove. Snow will create hazardous driving conditions on area roads and highways including highway 199 at Hayes Hill, Interstate 5 at sexton Summit and stage road passes ... Highway 62 ... Highway 140 ... Highway 238 and highway 227.
