Man stabbed during altercation on B Street-UPDATE
An argument at 650 N.W. B St. just after midnight today resulted in one man being stabbed multiple times.

Grants Pass Department of Public Safety officers responded to the scene to find 25-year-old Joshua Anthony Hernandez bleeding from two stab wounds to the chest in the apartment complex’s parking lot. He was transported by ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery.

According to investigators, Hernandez was in a physical altercation with 19-year-old Arturo Ivan Sanchez. Sanchez allegedly stabbed Hernandez and then fled the scene on foot. Officers located him a short time later at his mother’s residence on A Street and arrested him.

Sanchez is lodged in the Josephine County Jail and is charged with first-degree assault.

A hospital official reports that Hernandez is listed in serious condition at Rogue Regional.
