Ashland Police hold community forum to discuss recent murder
The Ashland Police Department is holding a community forum at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Ashland High School gymnasium to discuss the homicide of David Michael Grubbs.
Police Chief Terry Holderness says that citizens need to remain cautious because this incident is still considered a random act of violence and the murderer is still on the loose. “We want to take this opportunity to answer questions directly to the public instead of through the press and remind people to take precautions,” Holderness said.
Holderness said that citizens should be aware of their surroundings, carry cell phones and travel in groups to avoid potential catastrophe. He also warned that the bike paths are not the only locations to be aware and that the Greenway, Lithia Park and even places outside of Ashland are areas that potential attacks could happen.
