Mail & I.D. Theft Earns Grants Pass Woman 3 ½ Years
Michelle Renee Lustig, 45, of Grants Pass, was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison by Senior U.S. District Judge Owen M. Panner, after her convictions for conspiracy to commit mail theft, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. As part of her sentence, Lustig received a mandatory consecutive term of two years in prison required by federal statute where a victim’s identification was possessed or used in committing bank fraud. Lustig was also ordered to pay $12,387.06 in restitution to victims of the fraud.

Grants Pass Armed Career Criminal Sentenced to 20 Years
On Monday, District Judge Owen M. Panner sentenced Christopher Darrell Joseph Sage, 49, of Grants Pass, to 20 years in federal prison, after he pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Sage will be on supervised release for five years after he completes his prison sentence.

District 7 Kindergarten Roundup Wednesday
All Grants Pass District Seven elementary schools will be hosting a Kindergarten Round-up Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Students must be five years old on or before September 1st to be admitted to Kindergarten.

The Josephine County Commissioners during their Weekly Business Session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Anne Basker Auditorium will vote on the approval of a grant for the proposed Grants Pass Sobering Center.

Bomber Of Jackson County D.A.’s Office Pleads Guilty
A man has pleaded guilty to trying to blow up the Jackson County District Attorney's office so he could delay his sentencing in a burglary case. Alan Leroy McVay entered the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Medford.
