Rail Traffic May Be Disrupted
The Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad, known as CORP, had two rail trestles in the midst of the Douglas Complex of fires. CORP Manager Matt Fullerton told us there are people in the field inspecting those trestles to determine if those structures are sound.
There is a train scheduled tonight and no word is expected until late today on whether those trestles will support rail traffic.
The Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad is a class II railroad operating between Eugene and Northern California with a total of 389 miles of mainline. CORP has access to 17,000 cars and lumber, logs, and plywood are the mainstay for the rail company.
