Judge drops majority of charges against a medical marijuana dispensary operating couple
49 charges against a couple who operated a medical marijuana dispensary were dropped Wednesday by Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Lorenzo Mejia due to a plea deal.

Commissioners Okay Vote On Library Service District & Approved Animal Response Plan
The voters will get an opportunity to vote on the formation of a Josephine Community Library taxing district after a unanimous vote by the county commissioners supporting an order referring the matter to the November 4th general election at the end of a public hearing in the Anne Basker Auditorium Wednesday night.

Tree removal causes temporary power outage in Rogue River Thursday morning
Pacific Power crews Thursday morning will be removing a tree that is posing a hazard to an overheard electrical line in Rogue River and power will be temporarily down for 1,100 customers.

OSP Tuesday incidents
A trooper attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of N. Junction Avenue and E. Lister Street in Cave Junction. The vehicle, a white Mitsubishi, eluded a short distance and eventually came to a stop in a residential driveway. The driver, 30-year-old Jeremy James Sorenson, was taken into custody without incident on a charge of driving while suspended. A charge of felony eluding has been referred to the district attorney’s office.
