Hydroplane Races on the Rogue Monday
The final race of 2014 Cal-Ore River Race Season is Monday on the Rogue River. Racers from all over Oregon and Northern California will be competing. Organizers are expecting about 18 entries

790 Fire Shows Slow Growth; Happy Camp Complex Increased Over 2,000 Acres Tuesday
The 790 fire burning in the Sky Lakes Wilderness about 30 miles northeast of Medford showed little growth yesterday and is still being reported at 1,940 acres in steep rugged terrain.

Bloodmobile in C.J. Thursday; in Grants Pass Friday
The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Cave Junction Thursday at the Illinois Valley Senior Center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday the Bloodmobile will be back in Grants Pass from 11:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church at 909 Northeast A Street.

Fire 790 Shows Moderate Growth; Pacific Coast Trail Still Closed
Fire 790 in the Sky Lakes Wilderness is currently mapped at 1,940 acres. Crews have been successful in holding the eastern flanks of the fire near Martin and Snow Lakes bowl, crews will continue to defend the eastern spread of the fire.
