State Police to Lead Investigation into Officer Involved Shooting in Ashland
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in Ashland. Deputies were called to 35 Mistletoe Road at 10:05a.m. today. At some point shots were fired, at least one of which by an officer or deputy, and personnel from law enforcement agencies as far north as Central Point responded.

18-Year-Old Arrested for Intentionally Hitting Cyclist & Robbing Him
Aron Brazil, 18, of Medford, was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail with bail set at over $3 million on charges of 1st degree assault and robbery, 2nd degree assault plus hit and run injury.
White City 19-Year-Old Gets Probation, Instead of Prison
Devon James Wright, 19, of White City pleaded guilty Monday to his role in a gang riot last month and 2nd degree assault for fracturing the skull of a man with a pipe last year, but as part of a plea deal, he’ll serve only three years’ probation. Wright also pleaded guilty to altering a firearms identification number.

The White City V.A. Domiciliary, now officially known as the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinic, has drawn low grades for getting newcomers appointments, but drew strong marks for dealing with established patients.

Grandview Blockade to Resolve Domestic & Possible Suicide Resolved Peacefully
At 8:05 Monday morning Grants Pass Department of Public Safety police officers received a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of SE Grandview Ave. While officers were en route, information was received that the disturbance was between a 27 year old man and his 26 year old wife and possibly involved a handgun.
GP Council focuses on utility fee to pay for jail beds
The Grants Pass City Council during a joint workshop with the Josephine County Commissioners today urged city staff to continue drafting a utility fee to pay for rented jail beds in the Josephine County Jail.
