Earlier this week, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners authorized paying Rogue Community College $50,000 for health care education and $25,000 for manufacturing-technology training.
Early Morning Wind Knocks Power Off for 1,400+, Now Restored

City of Grants Pass Weekly Recap
The Grants Pass City Police executed 68 arrests and issued 55 citations this week while 911 answered 1,138 calls and dispatch handled 551 calls for service.
The nuisance intervention team made 13 contacts and issued four warnings, 4 citations and made three arrests.

Home Invasion Suspect Arrested and Jailed in Jackson County
Wednesday the Jackson County Sheriff’s office arrested and jailed James Turner, 36, of Medford on charges of first and second degree robbery, 2nd degree assault, 1st degree aggravated theft and other charges. His bail is $1 million.
Partial Closure of West Park Begins Monday
Monday morning at 7 a.m. contractors will begin replacing a gas main for Avista Utilities along West Park Street. That will necessitate one lane of West Park, from Lewis Avenue to Tussing Park, to be closed for approximately six weeks, daily until 3:30 p.m.
