Girl Scout Camp to be Restored
Camp Low Echo, a Lake of the Woods Retreat for generations of Girl Scouts, has been purchased by the Sid and Karen DeBoer Foundation. The family intends to restore the camp and make it available for a wide range of groups and events including the scouts.

Ashland Council Contemplates Yea or Nay on Marijuana Dispensaries
The Ashland City Council will consider establishing a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries while developing guidelines and restrictions on their operation at their Tuesday evening meeting at 7:00 in the Ashland Civic Center.

Kidnapper holds victim at knife point at 7-11
An alleged kidnapper was waiting for a 20-year-old woman inside her Volkswagon Jetta in the 6th Street 7-11 Convenience Store parking lot Saturday at approximately 6:00 a.m. and when she entered the vehicle he held her at knifepoint.

Grants Pass Man Faces Multiple Assault Charges in Domestic Case
Shortly after midnight, Sunday, Grants Pass Police Officers responded to the report of a domestic assault incident at 1402 SE Cherry Lane.

32-year-old Jennifer Moore had sought refuge at a neighbor’s residence after being assaulted by her fiancé, 40-year-old Cosmo L. Seal. Seal had fled the scene. Moore sustained a stab wound to her leg, bite marks and multiple bruises to her head.

46-year-old Elizabeth Mary Higdon-Stewart was jailed on charges of second-degree assault and on a failure to appear warrant after allegedly stabbing a man in the eye in the 2800 block of Foothill Boulevard.
