Michelon to Reconsider Water Rate Vote
City Councilman Richard Michelon served notice during the Monday workshop he wants to re-consider his vote on the city water rate increase. The Councilman outlined his reasons, “A. We didn’t get all our options. B. There were some discrepancies in the information that was provided. Lastly, I think there are other choices that were not shared with us.”

Grave Creek Fire 10-15 Acres-UPDATE
A wildfire that broke out late Sunday in the Rogue River Wild & Scenic Area near Grave Creek grew overnight to 10-15 acres. Fire crews made good progress during the night, and this morning their firelines are holding on the north, south and west flanks, but the east side of the fire is actively burning. Helicopters lifted off around 7:30 a.m. to join the firefight.

Two Wildland Fires Break Out Sunday
A new fire was reported at 6:30 Sunday night in the Rogue River Wild and Scenic area, about a half mile downstream from the Grave Creek boat landing. The fire was report at approximately 4 acres and is burning in a steep, heavily forested area near the Rogue River Trail.

2012 Rogue Duck Derby Winners
Saturday at noon thousands of rubber ducks were dumped from the Debbs Potts Bridge into the Rogue River to begin the 10th annual Rogue Duck Derby sponsored by the local Rotary Clubs and the first duck across the finish line had been adopted by Richard Surroz, giving him the Grand Prize, a $15,000 credit toward the purchase or lease of a car from either Lithia, Mocks, Wheeler, Roe, or Jim Sigel.
