Medford Police have arrested 18-year-old Lucas Carstens and charged him with third and fourth degree assault following an incident Tuesday night that left a man in Providence Hospital in stable condition after surgery.

Office Hours Change to Purchase Burn Permits

38-year-old Jacquelyn Kelly Novack, who was indicted by a Josephine County Grand Jury Friday for murder, tampering with evidence and being a felon in possession of a firearm is well known to local law enforcement authorities.

Miners Pan Proposed Regulations for Elevated Mercury Levels in Rogue
Gold miners are not happy with proposed water quality rules related to elevated mercury levels in the Rogue River. Miners at a hearing Monday in Medford said they are being blamed for a problem that is not their fault. Miners added that the suction dredges they use to filter gold from gravel on river bottoms also pick up mercury and remove it.
