Police arrest man accused of molesting child for six years
Grants Pass Public Safety officers arrested a man at 325 Shannon Lane at approximately 5 p.m. yesterday who is accused of sexually abusing a child for over six years.

According to authorities, a School District Seven student contacted the school’s resource officer to report sexual abuse by 27-year-old David Isaac Tompkins. Authorities have not released the gender of the student, but the abuse reportedly took place from the years 2003 through 2009. The child was reportedly 6-years-old when the abuse began.

Tompkins was charged with first-degree sex abuse, first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy.

After the arrest police searched Tompkins residence at 252 Oakmont for further evidence and they plan to file more charges.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this case to call 541-474-6370.

More information acquired indicates Tompkins lived in loft above the garage on the Oakmont property rented to him by the family who owns the property.
