Stockings for Soldiers needs help supporting troops

Stockings for Soldiers, a multiyear effort to ship stockings filled with supplies for soldiers, is finally culminating to fruition but donations are still needed for the project.

The Stockings for Soldiers project, which is a charity project promoted by the Josephine County 4-H, has sewn over 659 stockings to send to soldiers overseas.

The charity is still looking for money to help with shipping costs or trial size lotions, disposable razors, hand wipes, aspirin, dental products, shampoos, socks, hot chocolate or any other small items a soldier would appreciate.

Donations can be made at the OSU Extension Office located at 215 Ringuette St. or monetary donations can be made at any Evergreen Bank branch. The last day donations will be accepted is Nov. 30.
