Ashland Okays Marijuana Dispensaries; Operational Rules Approved
The Ashland City Council lifted its ban on medical marijuana dispensaries and approved rules for their operation, location, and taxation.
Dispensaries may not open before 9 a.m. and may not remain open past 7 p.m. They may not produce or manufacture any extracts, oils, resins or any other derivatives on-site, and may not use an open flame in any preparation. No marijuana or tobacco products may be consumed on the premises.
The ordinances take effect on September 4th, although the dispensaries may open now. The ordinances will be retroactive to the opening date and dispensaries must be in compliance by then.
There are two state provisional licenses issued by the state to Ashland businesses.
