Medford Police Assist Mother and Newborn
Late Tuesday morning Medford Police officers were dispatched to the report of woman covered in blood and carrying a baby on West Jackson Street. The woman ran from officers but was caught near the intersection of 3rd and Ivy.
The woman had just given birth and was in an altered mental state. Medical personnel quickly administered assistance to the infant and transported both the baby and mother to the Rogue Regional Medical Center. Both are physically okay.
The mother is known to law enforcement personnel and was displaying signs of mental illness.
