20 fires reported so far from Tuesday lightning storm
The Oregon Department of Forestry reports that over 20 fires have been spotted so far from Tuesday’s lightning storm.

Roughly 1,200 lightning strikes were reported in Jackson County and fires have been located in the areas of East Antelope Road, Hobart Peak, Butte Falls Cemetery, East Nevada Street, Wren Ridge, Placer Hill, Wards Creek, Murphy Gulch, Wilcox Peak and Hamilton Road. The largest fire reported thus far is a half-acre fire in the Sardine Creek area.

Fire crews and reconnaissance planes worked throughout the night and will continue working today.
