Judge drops majority of charges against a medical marijuana dispensary operating couple
49 charges against a couple who operated a medical marijuana dispensary were dropped Wednesday by Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Lorenzo Mejia due to a plea deal.

Laura and Leland Duckworth each pled guilty to a single count each of felony delivery of marijuana and they will serve 11 months probation with the potential to eventually reduce the crime to a misdemeanor.

Raids on the Duckworthís house and the Southern Oregon office of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws in May of 2013 discovered large quantities of marijuana and the Duckworths originally faced a myriad of charges including racketeering and money laundering.
