Judge Hull sends butcher knife stabber to prison
Judge Thomas Hull sentenced a man who used a butcher knife to stab another man to 70 months prison time today.
51-year-old Gerald Peed stabbed Robert Graham during an argument at an apartment in the 500 block of Pleasant Valley Road in Merlin in early April of this year. Graham was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center where he was treated and released. Authorities apprehended Peed a short time later on Merlin Road and they recovered a 9-inch butcher knife.
The sentence was given a downward departure because the weapon was considered a dangerous weapon, not a deadly weapon. Peed pled guilty to a single count of second-degree assault.
