Medford P.D. Blames Drugs for Burglary Increases
The Medford Police department reports burglaries are up nearly 30 percent in that city, compared to the same time last year.
The 600 drug offenses reported to Medford’s Police during the first four months is a 10 percent decline compared to last years’ 672, but information burglary suspects provide during arrests suggests drugs are the driving force behind property crimes such as theft and burglary.
Medford’s Lt. Mike Budreau believes there are not that many more burglars out there, but there are people continually doing burglaries to support drug habits.
