OSMB Drift Boat School Takes to the Rogue Monday thru Friday
The Oregon State Marine Board will hold its annual Drift Boat School Monday through Friday in Jackson County on the Rogue River.
Law enforcement officers, firefighters and instructors from all over Oregon will come together for five days of hands on training in all areas of water rescue, river navigation, reading whitewater, technical rescue situations, boat recovery and safety precautions. Instruction will take place on the Rogue River for the most part, with a few exceptions of classroom time.
The OSMB Drift Boat School features a 1:1 instructor to student ratio and an intense pace designed to develop and hone expert drift boating and communication skills, subjecting participants to the same real river conditions and situations faced by those they are sworn to protect.
