June 6 City of Grants Pass Weekly Update
In a look at the City of Grants Pass Weekly Update as presented by Assistant City Manager David Reeves:

Public Safety made 60 arrests and issued 119 citations. Items of interest include a police standoff on Medart Lane Wednesday where a suicidal subject threatened to shoot himself. After an hour standoff with SWAT, the subject surrendered and was placed on a mental hold. Additionally, officers are seeking a replacement for K-9 Rommel who is retiring. Rommel has served the city for several years and he is ready for retirement because he only has one tooth left.

Fire rescue received 55 calls for service.

City rented jail bed use averaged 28 beds daily for the week.

Water demand has increased with the above average temperatures and staffing has been stretched at the water treatment plant to accommodate the usage.
