Free Fishing & Camping at Oregon State Parks Saturday
Free fishing and camping being offered by the Oregon State Parks and the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife.
State parks throughout Oregon are free Saturday night in tent and R.V. sites and parking is also free in the stateís 26 day-use parks that charge a fee. Reservations may be needed.
Combine the camping with the free fishing weekend and itís a great opportunity for family weekend with little cost.
Here in Josephine County the only free fishing location is Lake Selmac where from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. the Middle Rogue Steelheaders will have rods and reels available for loan with bait provided.
In Jackson County the Hyatt Lake BLM Campground event features no day use fees for the weekend although there will be a charge for camping. The United Hunters and Sportsmen will offer a free breakfast at the group shelter Saturday and Sunday.
There will be no fishing in Lost Creek Lake because of the blue Green algae bloom.
The Galesville reservoir free fishing is Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the O.D.F.W. will stock 500 legal size trout prior to the event
Diamond Lake has a fishing derby for youngsters 17 and under.
