Golf Club Bludgeoning Gets Killer Life in Prison
Travis Asbill, 31, was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 25 years for bludgeoning 54-year-old Donald William Mack to death with a golf club on June 3rd of 2012.
Mack was sleeping when the attack began and, according to testimony, Asbill continued striking the victim until the club head broke off.
A Jackson County Circuit Court Jury deliberated for two hours before returning the guilty verdict following the five day trial.
In 2004 Asbill pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a 48-year-old man and was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months. He was released in 2011 and was still on post-prison supervision when he killed Mack.
