Light Turn Out for CALEA Public Session
The public and agency personnel offered little comment on the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Tuesday evening at a public session hosted by the CALEA assessors in the City Council Chambers.
One person addressed the assessors, Larry Leagjeld, a member of the city’s budget and audit committees. Mr. Leagjeld was searching for a measurement of the value of the CALEA accreditation. The assessors offered a copy of the 480 standards they will be inspecting.
CALEA is the acronym for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
Most people present interpreted the low turnout as a good grade for the Department.
