Medford School District & Teachers Union Begin Cooling-Off Period
The countdown on a 30-day cooling-off period between the Medford School District and the Teacherís Union begins today. The two sides have submitted their contract proposals to the stateís employee relations board.
The next scheduled mediation between the two sides is December 12th and more dates could be added. The board declared an impasse in negotiations on November 12th.
A strike would affect around 12,000 students and 600 teachers.
The two sides remain divided over everything from pay to retirement funding and number of work days. Two mediators will be at the session on December 12th.
