Two Motorcyclists Struck by Suspended Driver
Two Utah men riding motorcycles on Highway 199 south of Cave Junction were injured Tuesday afternoon when they were struck from behind by a motor vehicle driven by a suspended driver. Oregon State Police investigated the crash and cited the driver.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., two motorcyclists were traveling south on Highway 199 near milepost 31 when they slowed to turn left off the highway. A 1993 Jeep Cherokee driven by Wendy Zabriskie, 38, from Cave Junction, was following the motorcycles and she didn't notice they slowed to turn before running into the rear of both motorcycles.
The motorcycle operators were identified as Joshua Kaufman, 39, from Park City, and Robert White, 32, from Kamas. Kaufman was seriously injured and White received minor injuries. Both men were transported by AMR ambulance to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. They were wearing protective helmets.
Zabriskie was not injured. She was cited by OSP for Driving While Suspended and Following Too Close.
