Medford Man Gets 7½ Years for Attacking Bar Employee
Frankie Julius Parker, 35, was found guilty of first degree robbery, second degree robbery, fourth degree assault and strangulation by a Jackson County Jury and received a sentence of seven and a half years in prison.
April 23rd Parker left the Rumors Lounge on North Riverside Avenue after spending the evening drinking and playing lottery machines.
After closing, Parker, angry at losing $700 on the games, knocked on the door demanding to speak to an employee and when a 61-year-old, 4 feet 6 inches tall woman answered the door, he burst through, knocking her to the ground, then began choking her. Her husband, who was working in the kitchen, came out, grabbed a pool cue and yelled at Parker, who turned and fled. He was quickly tracked down by police.
After viewing a video of the incident, the jury returned the guilty verdict in less than an hour.
