Humans are the Suspected Cause in Experiment Station Fire
A vacant Oregon State University experiment station in southwest Medford was destroyed by a suspicious fire late Wednesday morning. Neighbors say some young people were seen hanging around the abandoned building early Wednesday.

Medford P.D. Asks for Public Help in Locating Burglary Suspect
Police have identified a suspect from a June 23rd burglary and are seeking the public’s help in locating 31-year-old Richard Myers. Myers is described as 6’ tall, about 180 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

Commissioners Approve Salary Table Adjustment & Okay Public Works Upgrade
The Josephine County Commissioners approved a salary table adjustment for non-union county employees that reduces the 12 steps system to 9 steps to bring the county more in line with most other counties in the state.

Lightning & Thunder Storms Miss Josephine and Jackson County
Thunderheads loomed large late Tuesday along the Oregon-California border and the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for our area but no lightning crept into Jackson or Josephine counties' forestlands. As such, no lightning-caused fires were reported overnight on lands protected by the Oregon Dept. of Forestry's Southwest Oregon District.

New Record High Temperature Set Tuesday: 109 Degrees
A building high pressure system sent thermometers climbing Tuesday, smashing the previous recorded high by four degrees. The temperature was officially 109 degrees late in the afternoon, eclipsing the previous high mark of 105, last reached in 1967 and earlier in 1942.
