O’Brien Man Charged for DUII & Assault for Saturday’s Crash Injuring a 2-Year-Old
Jon Allen Firehammer, 40, of O’Brien, has been charged with 2nd and 3rd degree assault, both felonies, along with a misdemeanor charge of DUII and two counts of reckless endangerment after being suspected of being drunk when he lost control of his Dodge pickup and crashed into an oncoming Ford Mustang Saturday on North River Road outside of Gold Hill.

Red Cross Sheltering Trailer to Arrive in G.P. Wednesday
The Cascade Region of the Red Cross is delivering a sheltering trailer to Grants Pass tomorrow. The trailer is stocked with 100 cots and 200 blankets and is used to equip a Red Cross shelter in times of disaster

Construction on Savage St. Narrows Passage to 1 Lane Wednesday
Savage Street, at Gilbert Creek, will be reduced to one lane of traffic tomorrow from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. to allow construction crews to perform exploratory excavation for geotechnical work.
