Bates Introduces Anti-Suction Dredge Mining
Medford Democrat, Senator Alan Bates, has introduced senate bill 401 that would restrict suction dredge mining on sections of 30 Oregon rivers, including the Rogue and Illinois.
Winter Weather Advisory through 10 A.M.
A Winter Weather Advisory above 2000 feet remains in effect until 10 AM this morning. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches at an elevation of 1500 feet is possible this morning rising to 2000 feet by noon. Locations include Toketee falls, Ashland and Prospect.

Granite Estates Controlled Burn Today
The Oregon Department of Forestry is planning a controlled burn in the Granite Estates area today. 40 acres will be involved in the burn five miles southwest of Grants Pass in the Ridgecrest Drive/Demeray Drive area.

Medford Alters City Code after Comm Tower Fiasco
The City of Medford no longer requires a public hearing to build a public safety communication tower. That City Council voted Thursday night to alter language in city code to drop the public hearing portion of the process related to those towers.
