Troopers Grants Pass Desk Log
Wednesday morning Troopers arrested Fred Gustafson for failing to register as a sex offender. He was issued a citation to appear and was released. Mr. Gustafson was directed to the Oregon State Police-Grants Pass Patrol office where he re-registered.

Easley Murder Trial Underway
Donald Lee Easley’s trial for felony murder and unlawful use of a weapon got underway technically Monday with jury selection. That process is complete and today began with the prosecution and defense arguing over admissible evidence. Easley is pleading self-defense and opening arguments were to be Wednesday afternoon.

Sickle-Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested by Medford P.D.
The Medford Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with the two robberies of the Subway on Crater Lake Avenue and one of the Mini Pet Mart, also on Crater Lake Avenue in which the perpetrator wielded a sickle as a weapon.

Happy Camp Fires Claim 71,729 acres
The Happy Camp Complex of fires has grown to 71,729 acres and the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for gusty northeast winds and unstable conditions for the fire area through 11 p.m. tonight. Extreme fire behavior is possible with long range spotting two miles ahead of the fire.
