Easley Murder Trial Underway
Donald Lee Easley’s trial for felony murder and unlawful use of a weapon got underway technically Monday with jury selection. That process is complete and today began with the prosecution and defense arguing over admissible evidence. Easley is pleading self-defense and opening arguments were to be Wednesday afternoon.

The Happy Camp Complex of fires has grown to 71,729 acres and the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for gusty northeast winds and unstable conditions for the fire area through 11 p.m. tonight. Extreme fire behavior is possible with long range spotting two miles ahead of the fire.
