Live Fire Training Scheduled for Friday, Sunday & Tuesday
The Fire/Rescue Division of the Grants Pass Department of Public safety will be conducting live fire training Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday at the Hillcrest Public Safety station.

This is a multi-agency drill with crews from Rural Metro also participating.

Walden Calls on Feds to Investigate ďCover OregonĒ
U.S. Representative Greg Walden announced today at his Medford office that he and other top leaders in the House Energy and Commerce Committee have written to the General Accounting Office requesting a federal investigation into Cover Oregon, the website for enrollment into the stateís health exchange.

Marathon Negotiating Session Yields Progress in Medford Teacherís Strike
The Medford School District and its striking teacherís union met for almost 14 hours yesterday at the Inn at the Commons and sources close to the negotiations reported there were signs of progress. Negotiations were to resume this morning at 9:00.

Gold Medal Winner Son of GPHS Alum
Joss Christensen, son of Jimmy Dale Christensen, Grants Pass High class of 1964, soared to gold in the menís slopestyle skiing event in the Sochi Olympics, posting a score of 95.80 beating his teammates Gus Kenworthy and Nick Goepper in a U.S. medal sweep in the new event.
