Fire restrictions have been eased on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest as a result of recent rainfall and cooler temperatures.

The Grants Pass City Council, although displeased with the way the bidding process was handled, did vote 7 to 1 to have the cityís bio-solids hauled to the Dry Creek Landfill in Jackson County by Republic Services at a cost of $40 per liquid ton pending successful negotiation of Republicís franchise agreement with the city. Gary Penning of Dry Creek Landfill estimated there would be 30,000 tons annually.
