The Medford Police Advisory Committee listened to two hours of testimony concerning dangerous dogs and was cautioned by pit bull owners to not blame the breed.

City Council Votes to Rebuild Water Treatment Plant
The Grants Pass City Council voted unanimously in favor of an amendment to the definitions of an adult use business as was previously written. The applicant for this amendment is a prospective brewery owner seeking to locate downtown, under OLCC statutes the establishment must maintain an adult only status as long as beer is brewed on site, if beer is imported, the stipulation does not apply.

No Contract in Teacherís Strike in Spite of Marathon Negotiating
With both sides apparently intent on reaching an agreement the Medford School district and the teacherís union negotiated until 10 p.m. Tuesday night and continued beginning at 9:30 Wednesday morning and again went into the night time hours

Portland Woman Gets 75 Months Hard Time In JoCo Court
Melanie Jean Gould, 26, of Portland was sentenced by Judge Thomas Hull to 6 years and three months in the Oregon department of corrections.

Animal Control/Shelter Levy Petition Confirmed for May Ballot
County Clerk Art Harvey confirmed this afternoon that his office has completed the signature verification process for initiative petition P-2013-010, the animal control and shelter levy and it has received the required number of valid signatures needed to be placed on the May ballot.

Three Public Hearings on Councilís Wednesday Night Agenda
The Grants Pass City council will hold three public hearings tonight at the regularly scheduled meeting beginning at 6:00 in Council Chambers at 101 Northwest ďAĒ Street.

The public hearings will be on two ordinances amending the Grants Pass Development Code and one amending the Master Transportation Plan Element of the Comprehensive Plan.

Commissioners Approve Ballot Question & Adding GIS Developer
Josephine County will be hiring a Geographic Information System developer and adding new soft wear to adequately address needs throughout the county beginning in the Assessorís office. Reservoir Water Levels Improving
The recent surge of wet weather is helping fill local reservoirs although concerns of a summer drought remain.

Strong in-flows helped Lost Creek Lake surge from 10 feet below normal two weeks ago to more than five feet above normal as of yesterday according to the Corps of Engineers.
