Washington Man Arrested After Daughter Eats Meth
Elijah Benbow, 28, of Seattle, Washington is in the Jackson County Jail with bail set at $38,000 facing charges of Child neglect one, unlawful possession and delivery of a controlled substance, driving under the influence and reckless endangering after it was discovered his 6-year-old daughter had eaten a rock of methamphetamine.

Josephine County total payroll employment rose by 110 in March. Over the year, the county’s job count declined by 90. An increase of 100 private-sector jobs was offset by a loss of 190 government positions. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined slightly over the month, down from 11.6 percent in February to 11.4 percent in March. The county’s unemployment rate was essentially unchanged from March 2012 when it was estimated at 11.5 percent.

Last Friday a White City woman returned to her home at 6:50 p.m. and discovered an unknown man standing in the living room looking out the window. The man pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the woman and motioned for her to be quiet. He then fled the house the rear door.
