Power equipment must be shut down and the IFPL rises to Level 3 on Monday
Due to extremely dry conditions and the recent outbreak of wildfires the Oregon Department of Forestry is raising the Industrial Fire Precaution Level to Level 3 and all power driven and spark emitting equipment will not be allowed beginning Monday.

Heroin, Meth & Cash Seized in Bust on Crater Lake Highway Thursday
Bail is set at over one million dollars on Santiago Contreras-Martinez, 32, whose residence is listed in the 100 block of Northwest Blossom Drive in Grants Pass. Contreras-Martinez was arrested Thursday evening shortly after six by Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Officer Rob Havice following a vehicle stop on the Crater Lake Highway near I-5.

Beaver Complex of Fires Now at 11,000 acres
The Beaver Complex consists of two fires: Salt Creek Fire and Oregon Gulch Fire. The newest, Oregon Gulch, is south of Highway 66, 20 miles northwest of Medford, burning near the Soda Mountain Wilderness. The fire grew rapidly and is approximately 11,000 acres. Salt Creek Fire had moderate fire growth yesterday and is 108 acres. Due to the complexity of the Oregon Gulch Fire, a unified command management structure with Oregon Department of Forestry, CalFire, and Oregon State Fire Marshall's office will be established.

Fund established for family grieving the loss of their 7-year-old boy
The family of 7-year-old Dakota Vincent who drowned tragically in the Rogue River Wednesday night have established a fund to help pay for funeral expenses.

Second Arson Suspect Arrested in Medford
A second arson suspect was arrested yesterday in Medford after witnesses saw a man starting a fire at 1134 West 9th. A witness reported they saw the suspect light the fire from the 8th Street side, then walk away going west on 8th Street and then south on Hamilton. The witness began putting the fire out with a garden hose.
