Neighbors Association Fight Council on Approval of Assisted-Living Center
Neighbors in an historic Medford area have formed the Old East Medford Neighborhood Association and have hired a Portland law firm to challenge Medford’s decision to exempt the proposed assisted living center at 825 East Main Street from a time consuming planning review.

Sheriff’s Office sparks news effort to handle non-emergency crimes
Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson wants to make the public aware his department is making extra efforts to respond to non-emergency crimes and the office is seeking extra volunteers to help deal with the reports.

Suspected Female Bank Robber Arrested in Arizona
The Medford Police Department was notified this morning that Amy Joy Cook was arrested in Pima County, Arizona. Cook had been indicted on a charge of robbery in the second degree for her involvement in the June 5th robbery of the Bank of America branch on Stevens Street in Medford.

Grand Jury Indicts 2nd Suspect in Ashland Murder Case
A Jackson County Grand Jury handed down indictments against two Medford men in the murder or Frank Ronald Damiano, 62, who was found dead in his Ashland home on October 10th.

Medford P.D. Arrests Seven in Domestic Violence Sweep
The Medford Police Department conducted a Wednesday night sweep searching for over 30 domestic violence offenders with either active warrants or probation violations. The sweep resulted in seven arrests.

Four G.P. Men Sentenced to Long Prison Terms
Judge Wolke sentenced four men to lengthy prison sentences today. In addition to the Why Not robber, Brent Doyle Leishman received a 72 month sentence for two counts of first degree theft, possession of methamphetamine, and I.D. theft.

14-Year-Old Charged in Medford Arson
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with reckless burning and third degree criminal mischief after allegedly setting a fire at 9:29 Tuesday night in the 200 block of Barnett Road in Medford.
