More Traffic Cams Considered for Medford Area Drivers
The Medford police department is proposing adding traffic cameras at four additional intersections. The city now has red light cameras installed at McAndrews and Biddle roads, and at Stewart Avenue and Barnett Road.

Smoke Expected from 5 Controlled Burns
Smoke is expected today from four controlled burns the Oregon Department of Forestry is scheduled to torch today plus the Elliot Creek burn, eight miles south of Glendale, ignited yesterday, is expected to throw up more smoke today.

Jackson County D.A.’s Back at Work; Bomb Investigation Continues.
The Jackson County District Attorney’s office was back functioning with a bare-bones crew Wednesday, following the pre-dawn bomb detonation at the front of their office that shattered several front windows and fire sprayed the building. Employees set up in different County offices. County justice officials canceled grand jury sessions and delayed court until Wednesday afternoon.

Citizens applaud jail beds; Public Safety Taxing District in the works
Vocal city residents showed up to the Grants Pass public forum on the use of jail beds Thursday night and all in attendance told city staff and present councilors that although the beds are helping their assistance is only the tip of the iceberg.

The Medford Police Department is searching for a vehicle that may be related to the bombing that occurred at the Medford District Attorney’s Office Wednesday at approximately 4:38 a.m.

TSPC Drops Misconduct Charges Against Eagle Point Superintendent
The Teachers Standards and Practices Commission has dropped all charges of misconduct levied against Eagle Point District Superintendent Cynda Rickert. The state oversight commission does continue an open investigation.
